For a true Hawaiian experience at Turtle Bay Resort, don’t miss our weekly Voyages of Polynesia Luau on Fridays at 6 pm. You will be greeted in traditional Hawaii style with a kukui nut lei at the Kahuku Lawn Terrace overlooking Kuilima Bay. Hawaiian music follows with a cocktail reception. Festival drums from the island of Tahiti announce it is about to get busy! The Luau – the Hawaii’s words for feast – is about to begin.
The Polynesian revue kicks off with Kaina Tehe Nua, a fast hip-dance from the Tuamotu Islands. Next enjoy the Samoan Slap Dance, followed by Tiare, a beautiful legend from French Polynesia comparing women to the white gardenia of Tahiti. Next, see Wesi a club and spear dance from the warriors of Fiji in preparation for battle, and Tewe Tewe a popular boys’ hula with suggestive moves. The evening culminates with a spectacular fire dance during which our dancers select volunteer guests to dance to the Tahitian music.
Dinner Show This Turtle Bay Resort event includes an elaborate Taste of the Islands luau buffet and one cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage. The evening begins at 6 pm with dinner service at 6:30 pm.
Reservations for the Luau can be booked at Turtle Bay Resort's concierge desk, 808.293.6000.
