‘Ehukai Kaunala Hike

The Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club conducts weekly hikes on Hawaii's trails. With an emphasis on safety, HTMC is one of the best ways to hike in Hawaii. Join the Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club for a hike along the ‘Ehukai Kaunala trail. This relatively new trail begins at the Kaunala Trailhead at the top of Pupukea and descends (yes, downhill!) to Ehukai Beach Park via a maze of bike trails. Enroute, you’ll encounter old military pill boxes and stunning ocean views. A $3 donation is requested for each non-member, age 18 or over.

  • Meeting Place: Meet and park at the Sunset Beach Elementary School, 59-360 Kamehameha Hwy (also used by the church). Alternate parking at Ehukai Beach or on Kamehameha Hwy. This hike begins at 8:30am - arrive 10 minutes early to check in.
